Ready, Set, Run! Tracks Return to the Old Cricket Field
The running tracks on the old cricket field in Lambourn have now been reinstated and are once again ready for the whole community to enjoy.

The 100 meter sprint track and 400 meter running circuit were recently marked out by Chris and Steve from the Lambourn Valley Running Club, together with Christian from The Lambourn Junction. The Lambourn Valley Running Club forms part of the Lambourn Junction Community Interest Company and continues to grow as a friendly and inclusive club for runners of all ages and abilities. Membership is free and all abilities are welcome.
The tracks are there for anyone in the community to use, whether for training, fitness, keeping active with friends, or simply having a bit of fun outdoors. They will also be used regularly by the running club, particularly to support younger runners and encourage more local children and teenagers to get involved in athletics and healthy activity. A huge thank you goes to Lambourn Parish Council for allowing the tracks to be painted on the old cricket field.

The tracks were originally created last year by the Lambourn Youth Council, and it is fantastic to see that the legacy of the Youth Council continues to benefit the village. What started as a youth led idea has now become a valuable shared community resource that people can continue to enjoy for years to come.
Projects like this are a great example of local people working together to create positive opportunities within the village. With the warmer weather arriving, everyone is warmly encouraged to head down to the old cricket field and make use of the tracks.
