C-47 Dakota Tow Planes at Membury

The second world war was very much in evidence in Lambourn and the valley of the racehorse. Membury was an active airfield and planes criss crossed the sky as they left and returned from missions. A prisoner of war camp was also built at Membury and the Lambourn Home Guard protected the village.
