Community Spirit Blossoms at Lambourn Flower Festival

The Community Flower Festival got off to a wonderful start this evening at St Michael and All Angels Church, with the opening cheese and wine evening attracting an excellent turnout and creating a warm, friendly atmosphere.
The church has been transformed by more than 30 stunning flower arrangements created by local individuals, community groups and organisations. Every corner is filled with colour and creativity, making it one of the most impressive displays seen in recent years.
Visitors spent the evening admiring the displays, chatting with friends and neighbours, and enjoying the opportunity to meet new people. The church was well attended throughout the evening, reflecting the strong community spirit that makes events like this so special.
The Reverend Julie Mintern said: “It’s wonderful to see the community coming together, creating something beautiful and positive, and so many people this evening meeting up with old friends and making new ones.”

Alongside the floral displays is an excellent art exhibition featuring paintings and sketches by talented local artists, many depicting familiar Lambourn landmarks. A number of the exhibits have already attracted sold stickers, demonstrating the community’s appreciation for the wealth of artistic talent on display.
There is still plenty to look forward to over the weekend.
On Saturday, 18 July, the church will be open from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm, with teas and coffees available throughout the day.
On Sunday, 19 July, visitors can enjoy the flower festival from 1.00 pm until 4.00 pm, with delicious cream teas being served from 2.00 pm
All funds raised from the festival will go towards the church’s Restore our Roof appeal, making every donation a valuable contribution towards preserving this much loved landmark for future generations.
