From Conversation to Collaboration: A Powerful Evening for the Lambourn Community

Photographs by Dylan Maude

Around seventy people representing some fifty organisations gathered at the Memorial Hall on 18 February for an evening that felt both energising and purposeful. The Community Conversation, organised by Hayley Warrick, the Lambourn Valley’s Community Organiser, set out to strengthen local connections and spark collaboration across the Valley of the Racehorse. It certainly delivered.

There was a warm buzz from the outset as clubs, community leaders, charities and service providers mingled and compared notes. The one minute introductions gave everyone a chance to share who they are, what they do and what they aspire to achieve. It was a powerful reminder of the sheer breadth of activity taking place across the Valley.

Attendees were invited to vote on more than 40 community initiatives already suggested by members of the public. The full list can be viewed online via THIS LINK. Please contact Hayley if you have additional ideas and suggestions.

The response to the overall event was emphatically positive, with 48 very positive votes, 4 medium votes and no negative votes at all. That level of endorsement sends a clear signal that the community is ready to move from conversation to action.

We now move into the next phase, taking forward the most popular ideas for feasibility assessment. If the evening proved anything, it is that the Lambourn Valley thrives when it comes together.
