An overcast day, but thankfully dry for everyone who gathered to pay respect at this years Remembrance Day Service.
It was good to see many young faces attend this occasion and to lay wreaths, passing on the understanding and the importance of this day to them.
Standards for the British Legion, Women’s British Legion and Newbury Royal Navy Association were carried by John North, Victoria Moxon, Nicola McGuinness.
Gareth Coulson from Wantage Silver Band sounded the Last Post and Reveille. The Exhortation was read by the president of the Lambourn Branch of RBL, Margaret Leahy.
The Kohima Epitaph was recited by branch chairman Ernie Bennett, while the names of the fallen were read by Peter Penfold.
Wreaths were laid on behalf of various organisations and for the Parachute Regiment.
The service was continued in the Church followed by refreshments.
