Petition: Sewage on streets has to stop
Enough is enough…. For many years the Lambourn sewers have been spewing raw sewage into the streets of the village when the groundwater levels rise. The sewage system is old and groundwater enters the broken pipes overwhelming the system to beyond capacity.
Thames Water are very much aware however the problem has not been fixed and residents of Lambourn are fed up with sewage on their streets, spread further by card on tyres.
Please help by signing the petition. You need only give your name and email address. You do not need to pay anything. It is simply a matter of you as a resident or supporter registering your vote of protest.
The petition gained over 100 signatures on the first day and we need many more to make Thames Water act with more urgency to introduce a permanent solution.

The plight of the residents has received a great deal of coverage both in national and local media:

I live in Goose Green. For weeks raw sewage has collected on, and spilt into the road and river.
It’s absolutely disgusting to see and smell what lurks beneath the manholes, worse still that Thames Water has made no attempt to clean up or implement immediate actions to protect public health
We are required to pay for both fresh water and sewage removal, yet both the supply of fresh water and removal of sewage falls substantially below the requirements indicated by tge services we pay for.
Thames water might be in trouble financially, but their management have long paid their chief executives and shareholders handsomely whilst failing to fix very well- known problems
Who from Thames Water is responsible for resolving this in both the immediate and long term? Who is accountable?
What can we as residents do to ensure we receive equitable service levels to customers in other nearby unaffected towns and villages?
