Local Art Exhibition 2011

Local Art Exhibition 2011
AN EXHIBITION OF LOCAL ART WAS HELD IN THE MEMORIAL HALL THE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY OF CARNIVAL WEEK
The Exhibition attracted over 40 exhibitors, with well over one hundred exhibits.
It was extremely well attended on both days with the “Comments Book” absolutely full of praise for the idea and almost disbelief at the quality of art there is to be found in and around the village
On show were paintings, photographs, wood carving, ceramics and pottery.

This first picture shows part of the general layout before the doors opened.

A selection of Photographs

The Harris Close Art Group made an impressive display, all artist are quite new to the art,
most having taken up the brushes for four years or less.

Aly Branford has been carving bird figures for less than a year, what talent!

Peter Walwyn showed his water colours, seen here admiring Tobi Corney’s Photo’s

Sue Smallbones Ceramics caused quite a stir.

Admiring the Toy Makers Art

George Bodman took a keen interest in everything on show

The art of Keith Collins from Eastbury attracted many comments and admirers.

The art of Ann Strickland and Val Taylor, their Aboriginal designs were much admired

The art was really diverse, here we have the caricatures of Mick Thornley
