  1. Lambourn Infants school 1926, the girl in the middle of the front row is my mum Violet Joan Benson.

  2. Nancy Hiscock was my grandmother and Flo Dudley my aunt in the
Lambourn infants class 2. 1920 photo.
I’d love to find out more about them.

  3. My Grandfather was Wally (Walter) Taylor in Class 1 1920. I also noticed him in the church choir. Unfortunately I know very little about him except that he lived in Newbury with his wife Anne. I was also told he was in the Home Guards during the war.

  4. Hello Caroline, thank you for contacting the website, how nice to hear from you. Interesting to hear about your Grandfather, I will see if I can find some more information for you, do you know when he left Lambourn?
    Regards
    Liz

  5. Thank you Liz. Not sure when he left but he died early 70s. His wife, my Grandmother, was Annie Heath whose sister Lou and brother-in-law Oliver Cannings lived in Keepers cottage at Ashdown as he was the gamekeeper for the estate. I remember visiting as a child. Annie’s brother also features in the fire brigade pictures, Bruce.
