Lambourn Open Day returns for 2026

One of Lambourn’s best loved events is back. Lambourn Open Day returns on Good Friday, 3 April 2026, inviting racing fans and families alike to experience life at the heart of one of Britain’s most famous racing communities.
In the morning, more than 20 Flat and National Hunt trainers will open their yards to the public, offering a rare behind the scenes glimpse into daily life in a working training yard. Visitors will be able to meet trainers, stable staff and horses, and see first hand what makes Lambourn such a cornerstone of British racing. This year’s line up includes several of the sport’s leading names, alongside some exciting first time participants.
The event follows another outstanding year for Lambourn trained horses at the very highest level, underlining the village’s continuing importance to British racing and adding extra excitement for visitors keen to see where champions are prepared.

From early afternoon, attention turns to the main showground for a packed programme designed to appeal to all ages. Racing legend John Francome will attend as Patron for 2026, joining an afternoon that includes Celebrity Show Jumping, the ever popular Shetland Grand National, Schooling with Top Jockeys, the Windsor Clive International Parade of Equine Heroes, trade stands and plenty of family entertainment. The Outside Chance Beer Tent will be open from midday.
Lambourn Open Day has been part of the racing calendar for more than 30 years and raises vital funds for the local community. Most proceeds support the Lambourn Valley Housing Trust, with additional donations to local facilities and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
Tickets are on sale now, with free parking, free entry for children under 12, and dogs welcome on leads. It promises to be another memorable day for Lambourn and its visitors.
