Join the Lambourn Youth Council – Make Your Mark!

Are you aged 12–17 and bursting with ideas? Do you want to make a real difference in Lambourn? The Lambourn Youth Council (LYC) is now inviting new members! Though its 16 places were full at launch in January 2025, a few vacancies are expected to open throughout the year – this is your chance to step up and be heard.

With a £9,000 grant awarded from the SNG #iwill Fund in 2022 — an initiative backed by The National Lottery Community Fund and DCMS — LYC is packed with budget to support youth-led initiatives . That means your ideas could turn into real projects that benefit young people across Lambourn!
What’s on Offer?
- A replica of a parish council, where you can influence local decisions on everything from youth facilities and the environment, to public safety and mental wellbeing.
- Monthly gatherings fuelled by refreshments—because great ideas often come when friends chat and have fun!
- Occasional guest appearances from MPs, local councillors, and other inspiring speakers.
- A chance to build leadership skills, boost your confidence, log community service hours, and even support Duke of Edinburgh goals.
Why It Matters
LYC empowers Lambourn’s youth to shape the future of their community. With guidance from a supportive clerk—but full ownership of decisions—you’ll learn how to plan, campaign, and deliver projects that matter. Backed by Lambourn Parish Council, Berkshire Youth, and local leaders, this initiative is designed for meaningful, youth-driven change.
