Graffiti Art by Lambourn’s Young People Brightens the High Street

Something colourful is happening on the High Street in Lambourn: A vibrant display of graffiti art – created by local young people. The panels were recently on display at Lambourn Primary School and have now moved to the High Street for all to enjoy. Members of The Lambourn Shed gave their time to put up the panels.

The artwork is the result of a series of creative workshops run by The Lambourn Youth Junction. Under the expert eye of professional graffiti artist Ed from TheVisualDrop, young participants learned the ropes of graffiti – from the history and cultural roots of the artform to hands-on techniques for bringing bold ideas to life with spray cans and colour.

The result? Two striking panels that reflect not just raw artistic talent but also the energy, imagination, and teamwork of the young artists involved.

The project offered a fantastic opportunity for self-expression and community engagement. As one participant put it: “It was brilliant – we got to try something totally different, and now everyone in the village can see what we’ve made.”

One of the artworks now has pride of place on the wall of the Lambourn Food Hall – with kind permission – while the second has been mounted on the side of Cathy Brown’s property, to whom we’re equally grateful.

These panels aren’t just a splash of colour – they’re a symbol of what happens when young people are given space, tools, and encouragement to be creative.
