Goodies Cafe Opens

We’re delighted to report that Goodies Café will be opening next week on the High Street, in the same location as the former Honesty Café. Since the closure of Devona’s near the Pharmacy, the village has been without a café. That’s about to change.

Goodies will offer all-day breakfasts, light snacks and lunches. Conventional table seating will be at the back while the front area will be more informal with easy chairs, low tables and a small children’s area. “Everywhere needs to be family-friendly these days,” Danielle told me, ‘We’ve got young children ourselves so we know how important it is to have some things for them to do which gives the adults a bit of time to themselves.”

The current plan is that Goodies will be open from 7.30am to 4pm on Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 4pm on Saturdays and from 9am to 2pm on Sundays but Jamie explained that this might change depending on what people wanted.

The same goes for the food and drink. “If there’s something you’d like us to provide which we don’t or if you’ve got any comment on any aspect of the place or what we offer, please tell us, in person if possible. One or other of us will almost always be here and we’d love to know what you all think and how we can make things even better.”
