Frankie Naylor specialises in helping equestrian athletes to manage chronic and acute sports injuries. She uses a combination of sports massage, ultrasound and taping to improve healing. Frankie uses corrective exercises to both rehabilitate and prevent injuries. The combination of improving muscular strength and flexibility creates a platform from which fitness can be improved for optimal sports performance in this weight controlled discipline.
With an honours degree in Sports Science and a Diploma in Equine Sports Massage Frankie decided to focus her sports therapy business in the equestrian sector. Frankie made the move to Lambourn 16 years ago specifically to work within the racing industry. Since then she has helped rehabilitate and improve the fitness of many clients involved in racing, eventing and other equestrian disciplines. Frankie also regularly treats horses to aid performance, prevent and rehabilitate injury.
In 2009 Frankie was chosen to set up and run the rehabilitation centre in Oaksey House for The Injured Jockeys Fund. During this four-year period Frankie managed a team of therapists and worked with members of the racing community to rehabilitate and improve fitness for riders. She worked on projects to help improve rider safety especially for those coming back to race riding after prolonged injury. She also played a key part in educating jockeys with regard to nutrition, fitness and injury management. Frankie ran seminars for the jockey coaches educating on specific coaching techniques and methods of assessing fitness for riding.
Having coached a variety of sports over the years Frankie’s main focus is trampolining. As a qualified coach for 23 years she has found that understanding the biomechanics of trampolining is a fantastic grounding for assessing and coaching the equestrian athlete to improve performance.
With over 600 clients Frankie now works from both her purpose built studio in Lambourn and within a variety of racing and other equestrian yards. Her main areas of work include sports massage and exercise rehabilitation for riders and equine sports massage.
Frankie has recently conducted three additional qualifications with The American College of Sports Medicine to further her knowledge in the areas of corrective exercise, elite performance and children in sport.
As a work rider Frankie has ridden out for trainers both in the UK and Ireland over the years. Most recently Frankie has been to check out the new gallop for recently retired jockey Noel Fehily and his wife Natasha. It is reported that all horses were feeling well on the new surface!

GP surgery PPGs (Patient Participation Groups) were set up to assist communication between the patients and surgery. The Lambourn Surgery PPG does this in several ways such as in the organisation of regular health promotion events, providing information on broader local and national issues to help develop future services and helping to improve the quality of service for the benefit of both the registered patients and the doctors and staff. It also acts as a critical friend of the Surgery.
Recently it has assisted the running of the flu clinics at the Lambourn Sports Club and Great Shefford and is currently assisting the running of the Newbury Racecourse vaccination centre through managing the local volunteers.
The Lambourn Surgery has both a virtual group where the communication is all electronic and a committee group which meets in person (or by Zoom these days!) four times a year to discuss the latest issues. The minutes of these minutes will be published on the lambourn.org and the Lambourn surgery websites.
The committee currently has 15 members which includes representatives of Lambourn Parish Council, the Benefice of the Lambourn Valley and the Lambourn Pharmacy. There is a management team and all meetings are chaired by Alan Breadmore. To contact the Lambourn Surgery PPG please email ppgchairpersonlambourn@gmail.com.

Lambourn Wellbeing Centre is a Registered Charity (number 1197609), created in 2021 to benefit our local community.
Wellbeing is about looking after yourself every day. Whether it's a short walk or five minutes of mindfulness, even small actions can make a big difference. The Lambourn Wellbeing Centre will be a community hub to promote and encourage wellbeing, helping you find your own way to a healthy and fulfilling life.
The Centre will host activities such as:
• Movement and balance classes for all ages, from very young to elderly
• Yoga, Pilates, tai chi, and martial arts
• Physical therapy and therapeutic massage
• Meditation and quiet reflection
• Group discussions and life guidance
These kinds of activities are proven to improve fitness and health, provide social interaction, build friendships, and improve state of mind.
We have several partnerships already in place with local instructors and volunteers to host a range of classes and sessions, with more to come. We will also provide concessions and other support to make sure these activities are accessible across our whole community.
The Centre will be the home of our charity, but our work doesn't stop there. The activities we host will help us fund good works throughout the community, including helping our volunteers reach out to people who can't visit the Centre due to poor health or mobility.
We have found a neglected but promising location in Lambourn village centre. Our first job is to renovate the site into a well-equipped, comfortable, and peaceful haven, ready to welcome everyone. We are fundraising and working with other charities to help make this happen.
If you would like to pledge your time to help us, or you have any ideas and suggestions for the activities you would like to see at the Lambourn Wellbeing Centre, please let us know on our Facebook page!
You can also follow us for more information on our fundraising and for updates on our progress:

I am a Nutritional Consultant specialising in digestive disorders / IBS as well as weight loss but I see people for a wide range of conditions including fatigue, depression, binge eating, heart and skin health - see my website www.whatseatingyou.co.uk
My main clinic 'What's Eating You' Nutrition is based in Lambourn but I also work in clinics in Hungerford, Wantage and Newbury.
Using detailing questionnaires and lab testing where applicable, I work to support the causes of ill health rather than just treat the symptom. Nutrition shouldn't be one size fits all, and therefore I develop tailor made plans for the individual with a range of meal plans.
