There were several groups of pairs, playing at specific times. Two games in the morning on average, with a very good lunch provided. Two games in the afternoon, with tea/coffee and biscuits available.
The green, worked on by Micky Lambourn bowled excellently all day and the whole affair was organised by Jennifer and Alan Bartter together with Brian Liddiard, Hungerford Bowls Club President, and ably abetted by many others who kept scores and of course, the excellent catering.
With the scores of everyone totted up, Mick said, “we had a very good shot difference and also winning our four games, as did our opponents in the Final, Barry and Dot Williams, from Thatcham Bowling Club. It was a tight Final and concentration needed to be at its highest, but Pam and I just managed to keep them at bay by a couple of shots to win”
