A message from Lambourn Surgery
17th May 2021
“You may have seen on the news that from Monday the 17th of May doors at GP Practices are re-opening. At Lambourn Surgery we have been open throughout the pandemic, offering patients telephone and face to face appointments as appropriate. During April alone we saw 1071 patients face to face and 704 patients had telephone consultations. This does not include the 910 first and 2nd dose COVID jabs we have provided at the racecourse during April alone. All requests for appointments have been triaged in line with National requirements, to keep patients and staff safe while the COVID infection rates were high and before the vaccination programme was widespread.
We are now being encouraged to offer patients a choice of remote or face to face consultation. Before we have more people coming into the surgery to see us in person, we need a bit more time to put in place measures to keep everyone safe.
As we wait for further National guidance on doing that, we ask that patients continue to contact us online or by phone as you have been doing, but please explore safe help options first such as NHS 111 online if you are able. We are facing unprecedented demand for our services and will need to continue to adjust how we use our clinicians time to best support our patients-particularly those who need us the most.
Hopefully this information will reassure you that Lambourn Surgery has been well and truly open during the pandemic and we continue to operate under an extremely pressured environment.
We will keep you updated as soon as we are clear about how we can re-open our reception areas safely. Thank you for your support”
