A letter from Graham Jones
Can I pass on my thanks to the Lambourn Valley for giving me the privilege of being their West Berkshire Councillor for the last 22 years.
There have been many changes over this period and a unitary Council like West Berkshire is very different from the organisation I was first elected to. The challenge of providing for an ageing population will become ever more difficult. Environmental concerns will continue to rise and budgets will continue to be squeezed.
I have had the challenge and honour of serving the Council as Leader for a decade and believe I am leaving a forward looking, financially stable and prudent authority.
I am delighted that Howard Woolaston has been elected as my successor and wish him well representing our unique community.
I will now have more time for the day job in Lambourn Pharmacy!
Regards
Graham Jones
