A community organiser for the Lambourn Valley

Lambourn Junction CIC is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Spence as the new Community Organiser for Lambourn. This important new role has been made possible thanks to the kind funding support of SNG. Their support will allow Lambourn Junction CIC to bring new services and opportunities directly into the village.

The Community Organiser role follows a national model and has been created to help strengthen links within the community. It aims to make sure that people across the Lambourn Valley are aware of the organisations and services that already exist and can more easily access support close to where they live.

Karen’s role will involve bringing together practical services that respond to what people say they need. This may include advice and information, health and wellbeing support, help with jobs and skills, and activities that reduce loneliness and help people feel more confident and connected.

Karen brings a great deal of experience from a senior career in public health and local government. She was most recently Head of Service for Public Health at Wiltshire Council. During her career, she has worked closely with communities, charities, councils and health services to design and deliver projects that improve people’s lives and reduce inequality. She is experienced in building partnerships, securing funding and turning complex ideas into clear and accessible services.

Through this role, Karen will help Lambourn remain a supportive and connected community, where people can find the help they need locally and feel part of village life.
