The 2026 Flower and Craft Show Schedule

Friday 7^th August 7 – 8 pm @ Sports Club
All Classes are open to everyone living in The Lambourn Benefice

RULES

All entries should be on the entry form supplied in this Schedule and delivered to:

Cathy Brown, 1 Sheep Fair Way, Lambourn 01488 491739 no later than Friday 7th August 4 pm.

Children’s classes are FREE

Registration evening Friday 7^th August 7 – 8 pm @ Lambourn Sports Club for those late entries.

This show will be conducted in accordance with the rules and standards contained in the RHS’s Show Handbook, except where, under the schedule, they obviously do not apply.

This event is open to all living in Lambourn benefice.

Entrants must not be professional exhibitors in that class.

Exhibits must be the property of the exhibitor. All flowers, fruit and vegetables must have been grown by the exhibitor, or have been in their possession for at least 2 months. Produce from an employer’s garden must be entered under the employer’s name.

All entries in any categories must be the original work of the exhibitor and must not have been displayed in any show within the past three years.

Floral Art Classes flowers need not be home grown.

Individuals who violate any rule will forfeit eligibility to receive a prize.

If a specific number is stated for a class, any deviation whether excess or deficiency will result in the exhibitors disqualification, with no authority to correct the error.

Exhibitors must provide a receptacle for each exhibit (where stated), Vegetables to be cleaned, except where stated, as grown. Cut flowers to be in vases or bowl (unless a specific vessel stated).

The Hall will open at 8.30am to stage entries, entry cards must be displayed with your exhibit with only exhibitor number showing. The Hall will be closed for judging at 11am. NO person will be allowed in the Hall while judging is in progress except the Judges and organisers.

All prizes are granted at the sole discretion of the judges, and their decisions and awards shall be deemed final in every instance.

The organiser shall not be held liable for any loss or damage to the exhibits, regardless of the cause.

Maximum entry per class 3 which must be of different varieties.

Trophies will be presented at 4.00pm on Show day. Trophies are not permitted to leave Lambourn, certificates are issued in all cases. Trophies are the winners responsibility for that year & will be collected before the next show.

Points awarded in Flower, Vegetable & Home Industries Classes to win aggregate trophies as follows: –

SAMPLE RECIPE ONLY

Barbadian Plain Cake

3 cups Self Raising flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups unsalted butter, softened
1 ½ cups white sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon almond extract

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease and flour a 9- or 10-inch Bundt pan. Sift flour and baking powder together into a bowl.
Use a spatula to cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs all at once and mix well. Mix in flour mixture and 1 cup milk; batter will be doughy. Mix in remaining 1 cup milk along with vanilla and almond extracts. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. Reduce the heat to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) and continue baking for 15 more minutes.
