Lambourn Response Volunteers

The Lambourn Valley community (from Upper Lambourn to Great Shefford) is made up of many great people who are willing to help others in a crisis and who have amazing resources such as cars, generators, pumps, tractors, chainsaws, know-how, time and so much more.

The Lambourn Response is there to connect those who need assistance with members of the community who have offered their help.

Storm Damage

If you need non-emergency help, call the Lambourn Helpline on 01488 505050 and you will be connected to a volunteer who can message others who have offered to support Lambourn Response to check if there is someone available who can help you. If the help you require cannot be met by the volunteers then the Lambourn Helpline volunteer may be able to advise you which organisation to contact. Always call 999 if your crisis is an EMERGENCY (Fire, Police, Ambulance).

Volunteers have helped many members of the Lambourn Valley Community in the past including: clearing fallen trees, power cuts (urgent generator needed), flooding, transport, cars stuck in snow, lost dogs, water cut off, collection of urgent prescriptions and many more.

Join the list of community volunteers!

If you would like to join the list of volunteers who are ready to help someone in the Lambourn Valley who needs help please join the Lambourn Response Volunteers WhatsApp group. If you do not use WhatsApp, just call 01488 505050 and we will add your name to the list. In the event of a crisis we will send a message to the WhatsApp group or call individual volunteers to check if they are available to assist.

You do not need to be a specialist or have specialist equipment. Just having a car to collect an urgent prescription for someone who cannot leave their house can make all the difference. Having a pair of binoculars and walking boots can help find that lost dog.
