2 May: District Council Elections: Moz Bulbeck Reynolds
The elections to the District Council take place on the 2nd May 2019. Lambourn has three candidates contesting one seat. Lambourn.org invited the candidates to tell us a little more about themselves and their vision for Lambourn.
Lambourn.org is non political and makes equal coverage available to all candidates.
Here is the letter from Moz Bulbeck Reynolds (Labour):
Dear Neighbours,
On the the 2nd of May, 2019, we will all be given another chance to go to the polling booth and vote. But this vote is a little different because this is a vote for your local community representative on the West Berkshire Council. And obviously, I’m writing to you as I want you to vote for me.
I am already a councillor on your local Lambourn Parish Council, I’m also a GMB Union member, and I’m a devoted mother & wife, to Matilda & Sean. In my day job, I work in the automotive industry. I spend time negotiating large multi-million pound contracts, managing a team of people across Europe and making sure all of the systems they all use are up to date and efficient. I am driven by the successful management of financial and practical efficiencies.
As a parish councillor for the past 3 years, I’ve come to understand the challenges that a wide range of local residents face in their daily lives. And it has become frustrating that there is a lack of convenient transport solutions, a lack of youth services, a lack of understanding of local road safety issues, and not enough care given to the Lambourn river to keep it free of litter. I know local residents are as frustrated as I am because like so many of them, I know that this only requires a strong voice and a clear leader who will listen to the local community issues and bring about some community based solutions.
If elected, I plan to work with the Communities, Highways, and Transport departments within the council to build better localised community services for all residents. I will also pledge to work to improve the amount of housing stock as the wider community, including the local Racing industry continues to be affected by a lack of affordable housing provision. While I promise to work to increase local housing stock, I will not allow the over development of Lambourn.
I am also deeply committed to the declaration of a climate emergency and working toward a carbon neutral West Berkshire Council by 2030.

Moz Bulbeck Reynolds
